Safety surfacing

One of the most important factors, determining the safety of the playground or sport area is providing the high-quality fall absorbing safety surface. Properly installed safety surface, allows to avoid many dangerous injuries.

There is a variety of materials of safety surfaces available providing impact attenuation, including synthetic surfaces like:

• system of artificial grass
• wetpour
• rubber safety tiles
• rubber safety mats
• natural materials such as gravel, sand, wood chips and bark

Safe playing has absolute first priority in Lars Laj therefore each individual playground Lars Laj is providing is compatible with all the present international standard of safety in playground equipment. Our playground system has been certified, tested and approved by TÜV in Germany according to the newest European standard DIN EN 1176-1177.

Play areas of Lars Laj are equiped in the most advanced technology available in safety surfacing as well as in traditional kinds of nature surfaces like grass, gravel or sand.

	Artificial grass Lars Laj Proplay - Lars Laj Proplay system consists of impact mats, covered with artificial grass, providing a safe, clean and dry play surface for children. Proplay mats are produced in a unique process from high quality polyethylene foam, having closed cells. 	Nature surface - Grass, sand, gravel, wood chips and bark surface are the most often used type of nature safety surfacing for outdoor playgrounds. However they are recommended rather for low play-eqipment. For playgrounds with platforms installed in heigher level synthetic surfaces would be much better solution. Learn more
	Wetpour - which is one of the best safe surfaces you can have. It can be laid directly onto hard surfaces like tarmac with ramped edges. It saves time and money on base works. Lars Laj is able to supply wetpour surfaces in a variety colours according to client demands. Learn more
	Rubber Tiles that can be laid on asphalt or concrete pavement. They are connected with an adhesive substance. As they don't crack you can be sure they will last for a very long time. Rubber tiles are produced from coloured rubber granulate with grain size of 1-3 mm, connected with polyurethane glue. The combination of those components gives as a result a safety surface of high impact absorption properties. Learn more
	Rubber mats can be installed directly on loose surfaces like sand or gravel. The holes allow the grass to grow up through the mats and thereby create a green area. With a system of plugs the mats can be easily installed directly on sand or gravel after the surface has been leveled. The safetymats are suitable for both sport and play areas. Learn more

Of course each type of surface has its advantages and disadvantages. Norm DIN EN 1177 issued by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) regards to standard specifies requirements for surfacing to be used in children's playground and specific requirements for areas where impact attenuation is necessary.
